Zilla Margaret Buddin Creticos

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of May 15, 2012, Zilla Margaret Buddin Creticos, devoted wife of Socrates Peter Creticos. Residence, Columbia, SC, formerly of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Socrates Peter Creticos are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, with a Trisagion service at 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Creticos was born May 19, 1925 in Turbeville, SC, the daughter of Kenneth Sodesta Buddin and Alma Bush Buddin. She attended Coker College and graduated from The Medical College of South Carolina as an x-ray technician.

She was an avid gardener who cultivated camellias and azaleas and was a past president of the James Island Garden Club. She also loved spending time with her family at the Charleston beaches.

As a loving Mother and Grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 64 years of Columbia, SC; two sons: Dr. Peter Socrates Creticos (Ruth) of Crownsville, MD and Kenneth Michael Creticos (Cathy) of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren: Kristen, Alexander, Kirsten, Nicholas Creticos; one brother: S. Bruce Buddin of Turbeville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her three brothers: Alton E. Buddin, Horace E. Buddin and Barney Ray Buddin.
