Zev Leopold Wolf, 86, of Summerville, South Carolina, husband of Jean Burke Wolf entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 10, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held graveside Sunday, December 14, 2014 in Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Cemetery, Huguenin Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Zev was born February 12, 1928 in Washington, D.C., the son of Charles Wolf and Leah Kaminsky Wolf. He was a1945 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C., a 1951 graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and a graduate of The George Washington University Law School in 1954. He was a fourth generation member of the Adas Israel Congregation in Washington, D.C. and a member of the Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Reform Temple in Charleston, South Carolina where he served on the Temple Board in several elected positions.
In World War II Zev served in the United States Navy as a Quartermaster 3rd Class aboard the Attack Personal Amphibious (APA) Ship 21. Zev was a member of the Summerville American Legion Post and was elected commander of the post in 1993 - 1995. He also was a member of the Charleston Jewish War Veteran Post 21 and the Summerville Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Zev was a dedicated employee of the National Security Agency, retiring in 1989 after 41 years of service.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his daughter, Vivian W. Robertson (Steve) of Fredericksburg, VA; sons: Michael Wolf of Columbia, MD, David Wolf of Germantown, MD; five grandchildren: Jessica Robertson, Steve Robertson III, Darren Wolf, Brooke Wolf, and Aaron Wolf.
