Yvonne Riols Caraviello, beloved wife, mother, sister and daughter, entered into eternal rest at home September 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She will be remembered at a Graveside Service on Monday, September 22, 2025, in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
A Charleston native and lifetime resident, Yvonne grew up on Logan Street downtown and graduated from Bishop England High School in 1962. She worked frequently as a local model, doted on her husband and two sons, and enjoyed dancing, visiting the Caribbean, reading Dorothea Benton Frank novels, and watching South Carolina women’s basketball.
Yvonne is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Caraviello of Charleston, whose devotion to his wife was particularly evident in their final years together; sons, David (Katie) of Mount Pleasant and Christopher (Shelley) of Charleston; grandchildren, Logan, Sarah, and Declan; sister, Mary Florence Ganis; five nieces and nephews; and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her own.
Yvonne was preceded into everlasting life by her parents, Robert and Eleanor Riols of Charleston; sister, Andrea Riols Crites of Charleston; and brothers, Robert Riols of Charleston and Bogota, Colombia, and Jerome Riols of Cottageville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association of South Carolina, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, N.C., 28209.
