Yukie Kay Parsons, 93, of Goose Creek, SC, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 3, 2023. The family will receive friends Friday, Sept 8th at J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Yukie was born January 29, 1930 in Tokyo, Japan, daughter of the late Katsujiro Shimamura and the late Kimi Endo Shimamura. 

She is survived by three children, Kathleen J. Weatherford (Larry) of Goose Creek, SC, Richard W. Parsons (Joyce Lee) of Greenville, SC and Joyce P. Boyd (Mike) of Summerville, SC; two brothers, Kazuo Shimamura and Akio Shimamura both of Japan; nine grandchildren: Michael Nyalko (Rebekah), Tana Weatherford, Chris Weatherford (Amy), Kela Weatherford (Tommy), Daniel Weatherford, Ashley Mitchell (Parker), Michael Parks (Holly), Christina Parks and Jennifer Cyr (Paul); 13 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Jared (Halle), Damien, Aidin, Shaun, Michael, Nate, Preston, Jacob, Nathaniel, Olivia, Damien and Connor; two great-great-grandchildren, Grayson and Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph Franklin Parsons, her sister, Hatsue Shimamura and her brother, Hideo Shimamura.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great comfort in the teachings of Jesus Christ and through her personal prayers.

Yukie loved spending time with family and friends, dancing, listening to music, traveling, fishing, cooking, shopping, going to Atlanta Braves games and reading the newspaper everyday. She also developed her many talents through sewing, quilting, Japanese needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, making cards and coloring.

Yukie will be remembered for her kind, loving, and generous personality and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
