Worthington Paul Wachter

Worthington Paul Wachter, 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Annie Gene Wachter entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 13, 2019. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 17, 2019 in Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy., at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at the graveside Monday, February 18, 2019 in Holy Cross Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Paul was born September 2, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, son of the late Samuel S. Wachter and Lois Smith Wachter. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama. Paul retired from Sears in management and then worked for Construction Week until his passing. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving both in active duty and in the reserves. Paul loved his church, family, teaching Sunday School, working, shrimping and boating. The family would like to extend special thanks to the physicians and staff at Roper Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annie Gene Wachter and children Diane, David, Sam, sister Sally Ann Ducker and his grandchildren.
