Wordis Cedron "W.C." Swain, Jr., 86, of North Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Patricia Jaskiewicz Swain, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. His funeral service will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025 in the West Ashley Chapel beginning at 11:00 am, and burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
W.C. was born August 10, 1938 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Wordis Cedron Swain, Sr. and Sadie Tuten Swain. He worked as a Ship Scheduler at the Charleston Navy Shipyard till its closing. After a few odd jobs, he went to work at CPW (Charleston Water Systems) where he retired from. He was also a Master Sergeant with the Air Force Reserves. W.C. was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed fixing and working on his 1964 GTO, golf, and bowling
In addition to his wife, W.C. is survived by his two children, Padeena Swain Kroeck (David), and Cedron (Ron) Stanley Swain; grandchildren Cedron Stanley Swain, Jr., Keri Beth Kroeck, and Lea Patricia Kroeck; his brother and sisters Reggie Swain (Barbara), Glenda Swain Howell, Sara Swain Livingston (Philip); sister-in-law Linda Swain; brother-in-law Stanley Jaskiewicz, Jr. (Beth) and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, W.C. was preceded in death by his brother, David Swain and a nephew, Philip Livingston, IV.
Memorial donations can be made in W.C.'s memory to St. Jude's or Wounded Warriors.
