Woodrow Norris Farthing

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of August 23, 2011, Woodrow Norris Farthing, widower of Mary Belle Murdock Farthing. Residence, Johns Island, SC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Friday, August 26, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL at 10am. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Thursday from 5pm until 7pm.

Woodrow was born January 1, 1925 in Stotesburg, West Virginia, the son of Walter Price Farthing and Ruth Underwood Farthing. He retired from the US Air Force with 22 years of service and served during WWII and the Korean conflict. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Survivors include his sons: Chip Farthing of Johns Island, Richard N. Farthing of Johns Island, Chuck Farthing of Summerville and Christopher Farthing of Kenwick, WA; brother: William "Willie" Farthing of Ocala, FL: sisters: Rosemary Farthing of Ashland, KY, Helen Lilly of Goldsboro, NC and Winnie Mae Deck of Crab Orchard, West Virginia; grandchildren: Eric and Sara Farthing and Joshua and Benjamin Freiberg.
