Winnie Mae Merrell

Winnie Mae Merrell, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Capt. Edward Leroy Merrell, Jr. USMC (Ret.), entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 28, 2012. A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 10:00 am at Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy.

Mrs. Merrell was born March 21, 1921 in Clinton, North Carolina, daughter of George Roscoe Holland and Lola Mae Holland. Active in her church until the end, Winnie Mae loved the Lord. She had such a passion for life, her family, friends, and church. She welcomes all in sharing the wonderful memories of her beautiful life. Come join us in celebrating 91 amazing years.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Lee Chaconas-Merrell of North Charleston, SC, son, Edward Larry Merrell of Charleston, SC, brother, Rev.Oscar Lee Holland of Florence, SC, sister, Carolyn Warren of Southern Pines, NC, grandson, Donald John Chaconas, granddaughter, Jessica Lee Chaconas, granddaughter, Christen Eve Chaconas, great-grandson, Hunter James Chaconas, great-granddaughter, Caroline Lee Chaconas.
