Wilton Wilson Salley, 93, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Thelma Alene Salley died Wednesday, October 10, 2012. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 14, 2012, in the J. HENRY STUHR NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at 4:30PM in St. George Cemetery, St. George, SC. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in J. HENRY STUHR NORTH AREA CHAPEL.Mr. Salley was born February 16, 1919 in Salley, SC, son of the late Henry Felder Salley and the late Ruth Marie Gantt Salley. He served in the US Marine Corps during WWII and retired as a ship inspector from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and yard work. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Thelma Alene Salley of North Charleston, SC; two sons, Robert Marvin Salley of Columbia, SC and Gerald "Jerry" Salley and his wife Patricia of Charlotte, NC; three sisters: Jeanette Salley, Beverly Schlenkar and her husband Fred and Betty Pleasant and her husband Bob; and three grandchildren: Robert Salley Jr., David Salley and Christopher Salley.
