Wilma Marie McWilliams, age 103, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Harry McWilliams died Monday, February 19, 2018. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Seacoast Church Chapel- Mount Pleasant, 750 Longpoint Road at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Wilma was born January 6, 1915 in East St. Louis, Illinois, daughter of the late Bart Conroy and the late Hilda Meyerhoff Conroy. She was a homemaker and enjoyed time with her family and friends. Wilma attended Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant and volunteered at the church when she was able. She was a member at the United Church of Christ in Carlinville, Illinois for many years before moving to Mount Pleasant. During World War II she helped the war effort as a "Rosie the Riveter". She had also worked painting ceramic models for medical schools.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen McWilliams and wife Sally of Peachtree City, GA and Guy McWilliams and wife Nena of Greenville, SC; one daughter, Christy McWilliams of Mt. Pleasant, SC; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In honor of her late granddaughter, Sonya and her 16 year old great granddaughter, Taylor, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 1155 N. Thoreau Lane, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701.
