Wilma Jewel Jennings Browder, 85, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late George G. Browder, Jr. died Monday, July 23, 2018. Her funeral service will be held Sunday, July 29, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive at 2:00 pm. Entombment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery, 2304 Hwy 17N. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Jewell was born March 13, 1933 in Cherokee Springs, South Carolina, daughter of the late Diaz Allen Jennings and the late Lelia B. Stephens Jennings. She graduated from Boiling Springs High School where she played girls basketball. Jewell worked as a secretary for G.G. Browder, Inc. She served on Mt. Pleasant Town Council from 1994-1998 and was on the Fire Committee. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant.
She is survived by two sons, George G. Browder III (Sue) of Wasilla, AK and Edward A. Browder (Elaine) of Sanford, FL; granddaughter, Victoria Browder of Sanford, FL; step-grandson, Matthew Reynolds (Ashley) of Punta Gorda, FL and Nathan Englund of Anchorage, AK; step-granddaughter, Kristen Englund of Anchorage, AK; siblings, Thelma Ashe of North, SC, David Jennings of Charleston, SC, Bob Jennings of Wichita, TX, and Russell Jennings, Roebuck, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and siblings, Sue Bridges, Thad Jennings, Lawrence Jennings, Carl Jennings and Leonard Jennings.
