Willis Gerard Godwin Willis Gerard Godwin, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Mae Watkins Godwin entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 24, 2018. His Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 27, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Willis was born December 16, 1926 in Pensacola, Florida, son of the late Aaron Willis Godwin and Wilhelmina Chaudron Godwin. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a retired Msgt in the SC National Guard. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a nuclear power inspector, and was a marine electrician at Patriots Point. He was past master of Mariner Masonic Lodge 33rd degree, and a member of the Scottish Rites Temple and also a member of Dor-Way Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Godwin of Charleston, SC; son, Kenneth E. Godwin (Marilyn) of James Island, SC, and brother, Roy Godwin (Faye) of Chatt Hills, GA.
