Willie Dell Rabun

Willie Dell Rabun, 97, of North Charleston, SC, widow of Jack A. Rabun died Thursday, December 27, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 31, 2018 in the North Charleston United Methodist Church, 1125 E. Montague Avenue at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Batesburg Cemetery. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

Willie Dell Smoak Rabun was born May 25, 1921 to William Connor and Ebbie Dell Goodwin Smoak. She was married to Jack Alexander Rabun from 4/23/1947 to his death on 6/10/1990. Willie Dell was one of seven siblings. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Allie Lee Smoak Spell (Bill), Howard Smoak (Dolly), Dr. J. C. Smoak (Dot), Barbara Smoak Spell (D.T.), Charles Smoak and Francis Guy Smoak (Millie). Willie Dell was also predeceased by her nieces, Delores S. Reeves and Helen Caldwell Spell along with her nephew, J. C. Smoak, Jr. In addition, she was predeceased by a much loved sister-in-law, Frances L. Rabun and mother-in-law, Jamima Warren Rabun. Mrs. Rabun was a member of North Charleston United Methodist Church for 50 plus years.

Mrs. Rabun is survived by her twin daughters, Claudia Rabun Bentley (Ed) and Jacquelyn Rabun Novak. Granddaughters Michelle and Lane Bentley. She is also survived by David T. and Barbara Spell, Charlene and Pierre Gauthier, Millicent and Robert Pealer, Cindy and Frank Carron, Jody Reeves, Dr. Thomas Reeves, Tim Smoak, Kim Smoak Gue, Susan Donnan.

Our family is grateful for Dr.'s Patrick Conway, Stuart Eads and the wonderful and caring staff of Roper Hospice and Homecare. A special acknowledgement to Mom's care workers Aletha Ancrum, Angie Crocker and Renee Watkins, who have spent the last two years supporting and meeting mama's needs. The church ladies, Juanita Gatch and Judy Davis for their visits. A special thanks for Pastor Richard Reams.
