Willie Hayes, 79, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Rose May Caton Hayes, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 21, 2023. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC, 29414. His private entombment will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Willie was born April 23, 1943 in Clinton, Louisiana, son of the late Joseph Hayes and Mattie B Griffin.

In addition to his wife, Willie is survived by his daughters, Shayla Hayes, Gala Nyang, and Juanita Bright; son, Michael Hayes; goddaughter, Martha Ann Hall; his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and sister, Gina Mae Lane. In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Hayes.
