William "Bill" Perry Walker, Jr., 69, of West Ashley, SC, husband of Homa Hatami Walker passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, July 8, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
Bill was born on August, 21, 1948, in Charleston, SC, son of the late William Perry Walker, Sr., and Joyce Bliesener. He was raised in Charleston, graduating from St. Andrews High School. He then attended college in Atlanta and worked in Charleston before moving to New York City, where he proudly worked at Pan Am Airlines, Prudential, and Price Waterhouse Coopers. While in New York, he met and married his wife of 34 years, Homa Hatami. In 1998, Bill moved his family back home to Charleston. While in Charleston, he worked for Price Waterhouse Coopers and Xerox, before retiring in 2016. In his spare time, Bill had an avid interest in South Carolina history, especially with regard to the Civil War. Bill also enjoyed spending time at Folly Beach with his family.
Survivors left to cherish him and whom he loved so much, include his wife, Homa; his daughter, Suedi Walker Hansen (and spouse, Simon Hansen); his sons from a previous marriage, William (and spouse, Gemma); Bryant (and spouse, January), Ashton (and spouse, Susan), and Joseph; five grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Walker Weber, Kathy Walker Yohn, and Lisa Bliesener; nieces, Kira, Jamie and Selena, and nephew, Jacob; and step-father, Carl Bliesener.
