William "Billy" deLorme Townsend, 67, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 15, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 in Saint James Church, 1872 Camp Road at 1:30 p.m. Interment, Saint James Churchyard. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Billy was born February 8, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of H. Evans Townsend, Jr. and Eleanor deLorme Townsend. He graduated from The High School of Charleston and served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was a member of the Full Gospel Men's Fellowship. Billy was an active member of Saint James Church where he was an usher and was involved with the weekly men's breakfast.

He is survived by his brother, H. Evans Townsend, III (Frances) of Summerville, SC; sisters, Elizabeth T. Adams (Richard) of Rockville, SC and Ellen T. Leighton of James Island, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
