William "Bill" Thomas Sutton

William Thomas Sutton “Bill”, 83, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1940, in Kinston, NC to the late Hubert Parrot Sutton and Jane Hardy Sutton. 

Bill earned his Electrical Engineering degree at NC State and continued in his professional pursuit of excellence by earning his Professional Engineering License.  His background includes employment with R.J. Reynolds, Duke Power, Corning, Health Dyne and Hill-Rom. Bill retired from Hill-Rom with 20 years of service.  He was very well respected in the engineering and medical communities. He had a love of history, enjoyed boating, music and reading. Bill was a kind, caring and giving person to everyone.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ellen Reid Wilkerson Sutton, his brothers W. D. “Shorty” Sutton and wife Kylet, Parrot Sutton, and his sister Brenda Jones all from Kinston, NC.
His Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. The viewing is at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with services at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private.
