William Reid "Bill" Springs, 81, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Madelyn Sparrow Springs, entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 23, 2017. His Memorial Service will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017, in Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy., at 12:00 Noon. The family will receive friends in the Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Bill was born May 1, 1936, in Hemingway, SC, son of William Shirby Springs and Edna Eaddy Springs. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired CPA. Bill was a former Rotarian, and was a member, Deacon, and served as Church Treasurer for over 30 years at Ashley River Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was an avid Gamecock fan.

He is survived by his wife, Madelyn Springs of Charleston, SC; four children, Pamela S. Brunson (Scott) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Kenneth W. Springs (Doris) of Virginia Beach, VA; Clifton R. Springs (India) of Lexington, SC; Shellie S. Johnson (Keith) of Lexington, SC; two sisters, Sadie Grow and Sulynn Clark, both of Florence, SC; and nine grandchildren.
