William Edward Smith III

William Edward Smith III, 60, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, husband of Sandra Jackson Smith, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 28, 2025. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 2, 2025, at Nexus Pointe Church, formerly known as Calvary Church of The Nazarene, 541 Red Bank Road, Goose Creek, SC at 11:00 am. Family and friends may visit at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery for family only. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, June 1st, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun St., Charleston, SC.

Will was born November 23, 1964, in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late William Edward Smith, Jr. and Eleanor Bentz Smith. His career was spent mostly in Commercial HVAC as a Chiller Mechanic. He was a kind, caring, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved God, his family, his church, his racing family, and everyone he met. He was a people person and did not know a stranger. He had a passion for the Praise Team, fishing, and drag racing. He understood that life was short and to enjoy it while it lasted. Will was a great man and words cannot describe the person he was. He had an effect on everyone he met, and he will be missed dearly.

Along with his wife of 39 years, William is survived by his two sons; Thomas Smith of Moncks Corner and Michael Smith of Goose Creek, his daughters in law; Hannah Smith of Moncks Corner and Alexandra Smith of Goose Creek, and his sister, Elizabeth Smith Wilson (Jay). He was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren; Jackson, who is in heaven, Joy, Eleanor, and Josie. He loved them dearly.
