William "Bill" Matthew Pierson, 72, of Ladson, SC, husband of Betty Ray Pierson entered into eternal rest Saturday, February 13, 2021. His family will receive friends at the J. Henry Stuhr Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Rd., North Charleston on Tuesday, February 16, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Interment with military honors at Beaufort National Cemetery will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Bill was born August 13, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Alex Pierson and Evelyn Hudson Pierson. He retired as a Millwright, working for Mead Westvaco for over 20 years. Bill honorably served his country in the United States Army and served in Saigon during the Vietnam War. He loved being on the water and enjoyed fishing with his buddy Jeff McKnight (an "adopted" son).

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, two daughters, Debbie Bright and Kim Grimes (Lee); seven grandchildren, Christina (Marty), Christopher (Marlaina), Jonathon, Kimberly (Cody), Brittany (Marlaina), Stephen (Kacie) and McKenna; two great-grandchildren, Colson and Aiden; five siblings, Gene, Butch, Carol, Ruthie and Debbie; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
