Bill was born July 6, 1943 in Mount Pleasant, SC, a son of the late William Hansford Norrell Sr. and Winifred King Norrell. He grew up in the town of Mt. Pleasant, graduating from Moultrie High School. He was a medic in the National Guard, and later became a contractor in and around the Charleston area. He loved playing live blues music and would often pull a harmonica out of his pocket and play a tune to anyone that would listen. He was an avid golfer and worked at Shadowmoss Golf Course well after his retirement. He was a good friend to many, but he cherished his long-time friendships with his crew.
Of all the things he loved in this life, aside from his beautiful bride and children, were his grandchildren. He took pride in each one and they can confidently say they were loved by their Pop. He loved life and his family, but he took a pleasure in making people laugh with Jokes, pranks, noise buttons and drawings. We are still finding the funniest hidden gems here and there as a reminder to laugh and enjoy life. That is the way he lived and the way he would want to be remembered.
Along with his wife of 34 years, Bill is survived by his daughters, Constance Norrell (Michael), Bonavota, Penny C (Shannon) Sharp and Katie Meckstroth (Jim); son, William Meckstroth (Aimee); his grandchildren, Elias, Everly, Norah, Samuel, Dominic, and Eleanor.
He is proceeded in death by his brother, Legrand Norrell.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the American Lung Association.
