William Daniel Nelson

William Daniel Nelson Jr., 59, of Goose Creek, SC, passed Wednesday January 16, 2013 due to cancer. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, January 18, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am, January 19, 2013 in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel. Interment with military honors will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 11:00 am.

He was a dedicated fun-loving guy who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, being on the boat, and watching his two favorite teams, USC Gamecocks and Washington Redskins play football. He spent time in the Air Force and then worked at Short Stay, a military recreational facility. He loved his work and enjoyed the people he worked with up until the day he was forced to retire due to illness.

William is survived by his wife Rozella Nelson; daughters, Nikki Dee Nelson-Gibbs and Crystal Lee Turko; grandsons, Gavin Turko and Cameron Gibbs; mother, Katherine Nelson; three sisters: Kaye Nelson Walski, Kathy Bertolini and Jackie Hinkle.We may have lost a wonderful man but we have gained a beautiful angel! We are all at peace because his long journey of suffering is now over and he has been set free.

In lieu of flowers family ask that donations in William's name be sent to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406 or Doc Williams SPCA, 109 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445 which William was passionate about.
