William Joseph Nelson, Jr., affectionately known to family and friends as "Billy," 66, of Goose Creek, SC, entered into eternal rest Monday, August 5, 2013.
A memorial service with military honors will be held Friday, August 9, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends following the service.

Billy was born December 21, 1946 in Charleston, SC, he was the son of William Joseph Nelson, Sr and Elnora Beard Barrera. He served in the US Army and was a welder with Daniel Construction.

He is survived by his mother Elnora Beard Barrera and his step-father Joel; father William Joseph Nelson Sr (Bernice); three sisters, Anna Bowling (John) of North Charleston, SC, Ellena Vanessa Boyd of Pawleys Island, SC, Nettie Elnora Avery Decell (Doug) of Hanahan SC, brother Michael Roy Nelson of Summerville, SC, son Rodney Elliott Nelson ( Azucena), of Casa Grande, AZ; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. His wife Diane B. Nelson and his sister Eva Jones preceded him in death.
