William Evans Martin

January 4, 1935 — September 9, 2013

William Evans Martin, Jr., 78, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Drusilla McEachern Martin, entered into eternal rest Monday, September 9, 2013.

His graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., in Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Avenue, on Thursday, September 12, 2013. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Bill was born January 4, 1935, in Charleston, SC, the son of William Evans Martin and Bettina Parker Martin. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and retired as a Real Estate Agent. He was a member of the Carolina Yacht Club, St. Cecilia Society, St. John's Hunting Club and a Vestry member of St. James Church, Goose Creek. He was also a Master Gardener, Master Food Preserver and Master Tree Farmer.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Drusilla Martin of Mount Pleasant; his son, William Evans Martin, III. and his wife Rebecca, of Charleston, SC; his daughter, Eloise S. Martin of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren, Louise and Will Martin and Anne, Alex and Charlotte Adragna. Bill is predeceased by his sister, Harriet Martin Wilson.
