William Joseph Caretto

William Joseph Caretto, 25, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 31, 2025. His passing is deeply felt by family and friends who were enriched by his presence. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 22 at 2:00pm, St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2619 Augusta St, Greenville, SC 29605. Arrangements have been entrusted to J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Born on June 27, 1999, in Boise, Idaho, William was the beloved son of Gabriel Joseph Caretto and Julie Kay Gibson. A graduate of the College of Charleston with a degree in Theater and a minor in Japanese, he was passionate about Stage Combat Choreography, writing, costume design, and acting.

William is survived by his mother, Julie Gibson (Scott Inama) of Simpsonville, SC; his father, Gabe Caretto (Cindy) of Elk Grove, CA; and his brother, Wesley Campbell Caretto (Grace Jeffrey) of Los Angeles, CA. He was also cherished by his uncle, Sloan Gibson (Margaret) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and his cousins, Celia Gibson (Michael) and Laura Able (Mike); and extended family Anne Balthazor, Ken (Brenda) Balthazor, Debbie (Dave) Tardiff, Jessica, Natalie, and Savannah.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sloan D. Gibson III, Juanita Campbell Gibson, Terry Arthur Caretto, Priscilla Ann Caretto, and his sister, Callie Rose Caretto.

William's spirit, dry humor, and quick wit will be remembered by all who knew him. He leaves behind many cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of loved ones forever.
