Entered into eternal rest on the evening of January 2, 2012, William Edward Johnson, husband of Betty Coker Johnson of Ladson, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. William E. Johnson are invited to attend the funeral service of the former in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel on Thursday, between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Mr. Johnson was born on July 9, 1933 in Dillon, SC, the son of William Percy Johnson and Donnie Butler Johnson. He was a veteran of the US Army and the retired owner of Hanahan Construction. He was an elder at Northwood Assembly Church and an active member.

He is survived by his wife Betty Coker Johnson; son, William Derrick Johnson and his wife Kelli Thiem Johnson of Hanahan, SC; daughter, Betty Denise Johnson of Ladson, SC; grandson, William Blake Johnson of Hanahan, SC; sisters, Lorraine Brown of Mobile, AL and Miriam Horne of Oakland, OR; two nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Dorcas Caples and Mary Evelyn Johnson.
