William Joseph Howell, Jr.

William Joseph Howell, Jr., 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 12, 2026. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in Holy Spirit Lutheran Church at 10:30 am 3075 Bees Ferry Road Charleston, South Carolina and the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

William was born September 2, 1942 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late William Joseph Howell and Mildred Almeida Howell. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church and attended Holy Spirit Lutheran Church. He graduated from St. Andrews High School joined the Navy and Graduated from the University of South Carolina. 

He is survived by his daughters, Renee Hutsell (Kevin) and Jennifer Howell and grandchildren, Nicholas Hutsell, Elizabeth Hutsell, Lauren Velte, and Diana Velte. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Margaret Theresa Seidel Howell and his sister Connie Koonce.
