William Avery "Lucky" Howard

William Avery "Lucky" Howard, 58, of Cottageville, South Carolina, husband of Cathy Lever Howard, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 18, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 22, 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm. Interment, Cottageville Cemetery, Old Jacksonboro Highway, Cottageville. The family will receive friends Saturday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Lucky was born April 6, 1956 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Avery Leroy Howard and the late Catherine Sweat Howard. He was employed by SCE&G and was a Line Man. He attended The Citadel and was a member of the Local Union IBEW #398.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy, of 24 years; his father and step mother, Avery "Lucky" and Gloria Howard of Charleston; three sons, Allen Moyer of Cottageville, Bryan Moyer (Amber) of Round O and Craig Moyer of Cottageville; special family friends, Terry "Suggie" and Jim Huggins; three sisters, Barbara Hardwick of Charleston, Alice Aikman of Indianapolis, IN and Norma Field (Chris) of Adams Run; and two step-sisters, Debbie Smith Knight (Roger) and Carol Smith Heissenbuttle, all of Charleston. He is survived also by three loving grandchildren, Bryan Moyer, Jada Priester and Dylan Moyer; honorary grandchildren, Chelsea and Katie Huggins and Elissa Tarpley; and many numerous nieces and nephews. Lucky was preceded in death by a brother, Avery L. Howard, Jr.; a sister, Betty Ruth Tucker and a grandson, Seth Avery Moyer.
