William Henry Heck

William Henry Heck, 84, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Joyce E. Heck entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 15, 2022. The relatives and friends of William Henry Heck are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Friday, May 27, 2022, in St. Benedict Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Trail, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466 at 11 am. Rite of Committal will be private.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Bill was born May 25, 1937, in Monroe, Michigan, son of the late Henry Anthony Heck and Kathryn Crimmins Heck. Following in his father’s footsteps, after graduation from Eastern Michigan University, he entered the world of banking culminating with 38 years of service for Comerica Bank, retiring as a First Vice President.  In addition to work, Bill was an active member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, a volunteer for 10 years with Roper Mt Pleasant Hospital, US Army veteran, and enjoyed golfing.

Bill was a beacon for his loving family always guiding them to the high road.  He met his wife, Joyce, in junior high school, married in 1957 and had 64 wonderful years together.  They were blessed with three daughters, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  He lived vicariously through his grandchildren by attending all of their graduations, watching their sporting activities and teaching them how to navigate the peculiarities of life. They brought him so much joy and happiness.
 
In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by daughters, Kathryn Hohenberger (Ron) of Daniel Island, SC, Laura Hosea (Mark) of Grosse Pointe, MI and Barbara Malik (David) of Liberty Township, OH; grandchildren, Sarah, Lauren (Steve), Zack, John, Megan, Jennifer, Kaitlyn (Casey) and Kyle; great-grandchildren, James, Annabelle, Ava and Skylar; Brothers, Edward Heck (Martha) of Boston, MA and Henry Heck (Barbara) of Grosse Pointe, MI and sister-in law, Eileen Heck of Petoskey, MI. He was predeceased by his brother Dennis Heck.
