William Roe Gabriel

W. Roe Gabriel, 83, of Charleston, SC, a retired Regional Vice President with NBSC, and husband of Beverly Gabriel, died Saturday, August 2, 2014. His funeral service will be held Monday, August 4, 2014, in Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 302 Hibben Street, at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Hopewell Methodist Churchyard in Sherrills Ford, NC on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 3, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Roe was born the youngest of eight children on April 10, 1931 in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, son of the late Bob Gabriel and Era Alley Gabriel. He was a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College and served aboard the USS Knudson in the Korean Conflict. After his career in banking, Roe worked as a residential real estate agent with Dunes Properties and Agent-Owned Realty. He was also a past president of the North Charleston Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Beverley Gabriel; two sons, Darien Gabriel and his wife, Anita, of Summerville, SC and Kent Gabriel and his wife, Mary Ellis, of Lexington, SC; two step-sons, Channing Bolick of Winter Haven, FL and Todd Bolick and his wife, Heather, of Winter Haven, FL; step-daughter, Tifffany Westrich and her husband, Bryan, of Winter Haven, FL; four grandchildren, Kelsi, Samantha, Jennifer and Emma Gabriel; and two step-grandchildren, Tate and Austin Bolick.
