William Ernest "Ernie" Otis Douan, aged 67, of North Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 17, 2026. Born on September 15, 1958, in Charleston, South Carolina, Ernie was the son of the late Henry Edwards Douan and Cynthia Agnes Barton Douan.

Ernie was a service owner who dedicated himself to his work with commitment and integrity. His life was marked by his devotion to family and community. Ernie was the youngest sanctioned bowler in the AJBC Bowling league in 1961. He enjoyed community sports and was big fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

He is survived by his daughter, Robin Kimberly Douan of Canon City, Colorado; two siblings, Marie Rickborn of Summerville, South Carolina and Kenny Douan of Columbia, South Carolina; and many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Hank Douan.

The Funeral Service honoring Ernie's life will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 am at the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd, followed by internment at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on the same day, an hour before the service beginning at 10:00 am at the Mount Pleasant Chapel.
