William "Billy" Vito D'Elia, Jr., 61, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Mimi D'Elia, entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 25, 2014. The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL Tuesday, January 28, 2014, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm and again Wednesday, January 29, 2014, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm where a Rosary Service will be recited at 6 pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014, in Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive, at 10 am. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
Mr. D'Elia was born November 7, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY, son of William Vito D'Elia and Carmela DeSantis D'Elia. He was the founder of The New York Butcher Shoppe, which he owned and operated alongside his family since 1999. He was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mimi D'Elia of Mount Pleasant, SC; two sons, William "Billy" D'Elia and his wife, Jericha of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Joseph Vito Angelo D'Elia and his wife, Jennifer of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Dominick Michael D'Elia, Julianna Grace D'Elia and Austin Vito D'Elia; his mother, Carmela DeSantis D'Elia of Brooklyn, NY.
