William Ellsworth Crouch

July 31, 1943 — August 18, 2015

William E. Crouch, III, M.D., 72, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Rosalie Kelsey Crouch, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 18, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 in Grace Episcopal Church, 98 Wentworth Street at 3:00 p.m. Entombment, Grace Episcopal Church Columbarium. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

William was born July 31, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, son of William Ellsworth Crouch, Jr. and Mary Hopkins Crouch. He received degrees from Indian Springs Preparatory School, Princeton University and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He specialized in cardiology and was in private practice in Charleston, SC. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. As a change bell ringer, he was elected to the Royal Society of Cumberland Youths. His special interests were sailing and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie of Charleston, SC; daughter, Katie Crouch (Peter Orner) of San Francisco, CA; son, Richard (Heather) W. Crouch of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, William Crouch, Kelsey Crouch, and Phoebe Crouch Orner; and one sister, Patricia Crouch Miyamoto of Pittsburgh, PA.
