William Douglas Carroll, Jr., aged 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026. A service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Daniel Island, SC, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church.

Born on November 30, 1939, in Columbus, Georgia, William was the beloved son of the late William Douglas Carroll and Thelma Bauldree Carroll. He dedicated many years as a route salesman for Pepperidge Farm. More recently, he became affectionately known as the unofficial "Mayor" of Seven Farms in Daniel Island, where he enjoyed organizing events, bingo games, and movie nights - especially when he could choose the titles. His last potluck with them was September 19, 2026, but his memory will always be cherished by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his former wife of 42 years, Frances Austine Peavey Carroll. He is survived by their children, Kimberly Carroll Bustillo(Mario) of Raleigh, NC; son, Todd Carroll (Robin)of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren, Christopher Deris (Leia), Joclyn Sawmiller (Jeff), Thayra Bustillo, Jenna Carroll (Austin), Mario Jose, and Chase Carroll; and great grandchildren Elijah, Isaac, Breckyn, Bram, and Rowan; siblings, Margie, Sherrie and Mary-Beth; niece, Dana Hall, and nephew, Troy Carroll.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Artis Clotine Miller Carroll, and is survived by their children, Brenda (Mike), Mike, Kim (Greg), Chris (Phil); and grandchildren, Chrissy, Connor, Ethan, and Devon.

His passion for gardening was renowned, and flowers are welcomed in his memory. Contributions may also be made to the American Heart Association in his honor.
