William L. Breland, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 17, 2021. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. William (Bill) was born February 9, 1935 in Savannah, Georgia, son of the late Laurie Cecil Breland and the late Theora Gross Breland. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his son William Mark Breland.
William lived in Charleston, SC for the last 43 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will forever be remembered for his love of bird watching, photography and camping. He had a gentle soul and contagious laugh. His famous saying was "You're not a Breland if you don't eat rice".
He is survived by his son, James E. Breland of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Amy D. Wiggins and Candice N. Rook; his great-grandchildren, Brianna Wiggins, Brandon Wiggins and Aubrey Rook; and his sisters Donna and Nona.
William will be missed by his family and friends, but never forgotten.
