William "Bill" W. Sexton, Jr., 78, of North Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on March 3, 2026. Visitation will be held Friday, March 6, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. The graveside service is on Saturday, March 7, 11:00 a.m., at Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Dr.
Bill Jr., as he was called by friends and family was born on December 2, 1947, in Charleston, South Carolina, to William "Bill" Wilson Sexton, Sr. and Pansy White Sexton. He graduated from St. Andrew’s Parish High School in 1967. Following his father's path, Bill served in the United States Navy from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1971. Afterward, he earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Palmer Business College. Once he finished his studies, Bill Jr. alongside his beloved father, Bill Sr., established the Northport Inn in North Charleston, South Carolina, where they managed the business together until it was sold. Bill Jr. later rejoined his father at East Coast Imports and worked with him until retirement. While at both the Northport Inn and East Coast Imports, Bill Jr. built lasting friendships he greatly valued.
Bill Jr. is survived by his daughter, Julie Sexton-Crawford (Chris) and granddaughter, Campbell Paige Crawford of Houston, TX; nephew, Matthew Dennis Washburn (Elizabeth), great-niece, Madeline Rose, great-nephew, Luke Fraser, and great-niece, Charlotte Anne of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Sarah D. Ford and brother-in-law, Al Ford of Hollywood, SC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Amanda Sexton and sister, Brenda Sexton Cawley.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Friends of Fisher House Charleston. The Charleston Fisher House is a “home away from home” for families of veterans receiving care at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Hospital. friendsoffisherhousecharleston.org
