Bill was born August 30, 1936 in New Orleans, LA, the son of William George Hantske and Madeline Horres Hantske. Soon after Bill was born, the family moved to Spartanburg, SC, where he grew up.
Bill received a degree in Marketing from the University of SC. Following graduation, he held his first position with Deering Miliken Textiles, where he was in Production Control and Operations Research. He ventured to Charleston to work in Real Estate and started a construction business. He later became the Branch Manager for Northwestern Bank and he furthered his education by receiving a Mortagage Banking Associate Degree from Northwestern University. This led him to his ultimate love in the real estate development business. He went on to become the Project Manager for Snee Farm. When he started with Snee Farm, there was one house under construction. The subdivision was completed eleven years later.
Over the years, Bill developed or permitted more than 5,000 residential living units. He then went into retail and community construction, where he worked on a number of small projects and shopping centers. This led him to become the Project Manager for Centre Pointe Developers, LLC in North Charleston in 1998. At that time, Centre Pointe was totally a wooded area. As Project Manager, he over saw the clearing, drainage, road construction, water and sewer that allowed for the buildings there today.
Bill was an active member of Harbor View Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder twice; and chaired the Finance Committee and the building and Grounds Committee. He also served as an usher and was on various other committees. Bill was a Trustee for the Charleston Atlantic Presbytery. Bill served in the Air National Guard and then transferred to the Army Reserves; where he was assigned to the Operations Research Division. Bill was an avid sportsman where his passions were fishing, hunting and boating. He greatly enjoyed time with his beloved family.
