William "Bill" Roscoe Everett, Jr. , 80, of Huger, South Carolina, husband of Velvaleen S. Thurber Everett entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 28, 2026. His funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Seacoast Church - Mt. Pleasant, with interment following in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are welcome an hour before the service to pay their respects.

Born on October 26, 1945, in Paris, Texas, to the late William Roscoe Everett, Sr. and Julia Nell Whitehurst Everett, Bill’s journey was impactful and enduring. He became a dedicated Realtor, beginning his career in Arlington, Virginia, in 1978 and later establishing the first Remax office in Charleston in 1986. He remained an active figure in real estate with Remax Southern Shores until his passing.

Bill's love for sports was evident as he played basketball for East Carolina University and Bethel High School. A devoted fan of Duke Basketball, he especially enjoyed March Madness. His passion extended beyond sports to fast cars and the compassion he showed by rescuing animals, both cats and dogs, that enriched his life.

A dedicated member of Seacoast Church, Bill also cherished his former community in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Velvaleen, his sons Brian C. Everett of North Charleston, SC, Christopher N. Everett (Meghan) of Northville, MI, Major Zachary T. Thurber (Aimee) of Summerville, SC, and Mason Thurber (Sarah J.) of Beaufort, SC. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Eveyln Everett, Emma Thurber, Kaitlyn Thurber, Owen Thurber, and Reid Thurber. He also leaves his sister, Alyce Everett Green (John) of Greenville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, Charleston Animal Society, and Seacoast Church.
