William Eugene Bailey
William Eugene Bailey, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 1, 2024. A private crypt side service will be held at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
William was born December 13, 1935 in Reidsville, North Carolina, son of the late Ralph Cecil Bailey and the late Nora Ella Braim Bailey. He proudly served in the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. After retirement, William owned his own locksmith business and served The Citadel in that capacity, as well as Fire Marshall. He will be remembered for the way he loved his country and family.
He is survived by his children; Arthur Bailey (Anne) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Cindy Bailey hart of Charleston, SC, and ROnald Bailey of Mt. Pleasant, SC; eight grandchildren, Tricia Bailey Martinson (Shane), Michael Bailey (Lauren), William Bailey, Amelia Bailey, Christopher Hart (Amy), Christina Hart O'Conner (Jim), Matthew Bailey (Ryan); six great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Mae Williams Bailey.
The family wishes to thank Crescent Hospice and the staff of Wellmore.
