Wilhelmina "Billie" Melton Wieters Hall, 96, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Walter D. Wieters and Russell W. Hall died Monday, July 27, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, July 30, 2015 in The Unitarian Church of Charleston, 4 Archdale Street at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Churchyard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Billie was born November 23, 1918 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Harry Eugene Melton and the late Kathryn Ervin Melton. She attended the College of Charleston and was a retired secretary for E. Roy Daniell, C.P.A. Billie was an active member of the Unitarian Church in Charleston, especially the archive committee. She is survived by two sons: Walter D. Wieters, Jr. (Betty) of Murrells Inlet, SC and William M. Wieters of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren, Walter Brian Wieters (Jennifer), Kevin Michael Wieters (Melynda), Ashley Wieters Redmond (Mark), William Charlton Wieters (Elizabeth), and Forest Smith Wieters (Justice); nine great grandchildren; one sister, Thelma M. Fairbain of Charleston, SC; three nieces, Jan Melton, Beth Valentine, and Jean Pool; one nephew, Scott Fairbain; two stepsons, David Hall (Janice) and Roger Hall (Paula); two stepdaughters, Louise Hall Cook (Richard) and Katie Hall; ten step-grandchildren; eighteen step-great grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother; Harry E. Melton; one sister, Catheryn Ferry; and one daughter-in-law, Charlene Smith Wieters.
