Whit Moore Donald

Whit Moore Donald, 83, husband of the late Annie Maude Bennett Donald of Isle of Palms, SC passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011. 

The relatives and friends of Whit Moore Donald are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, August 12, 2011 in Sullivan's Island Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens with military honors.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm until time of the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. 

Mr. Donald was born on January 27, 1928 in Williamston, North Carolina, son of the late William Oscar Donald and Mattie Moore Donald. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a welder.  He was a member of the Masons and Omar Shrine Temple.

 He is survived by his three daughters, Kathy Donald McDuffie (Ernie) of Awendaw, SC, Ellen Donald Benke (Andy) of Sullivan's Island, SC and Cynthia Lynn Donald of Butler, TN; five grandchildren, Jamie Arazie, Sean McDuffie, Heather Ferri, Christian Benke and Dylan Benke; two great grandchildren, Amber and Ashlyn Ferri.  He was preceded in death by two daughters, Rebecca Arazie and Merry Lou Donald. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC  29605-4277.
