Wendy Mitchum Velazquez, 44, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 4:00 pm. Interment will follow in Halfway Creek Cemetery, 5359 Halfway Creek Road. The family will receive friends in the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Saturday from 3:00 pm until time of the service.

Wendy was born November 2, 1971 in Wilmington, North Carolina, daughter of John Wesley Mitchum and Bonita "Bonnie" Widner Mitchum. She was a Registered Nurse. Above all she was a loving mother and friend.

She is survived by her parents, John and Bonnie Mitchum of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four sons, Dustin Mitchum of Charleston, SC, John Velazquez, Michael Velazquez, and Noah Velazquez all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three daughters, Christina Mitchum of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Brooke Mitchum of Orangeburg, SC, Maria Velazquez of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one granddaughter Maci McDaniel of Orangeburg, SC, Gustavo Velazquez of Charleston, SC; two sisters Bridget Dorkewitz (John Dorkewitz) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Ashley Mitchum-Chapman (Christopher Chapman) of Mt.Pleasant, SC.
