Wayne Cole Shannon

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of May 25, 2011, Wayne Cole Shannon, husband of Betty Wall Shannon.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shannon are invited to attend his funeral service at the graveside at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 10:30 am with military honors.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm. 

Mr. Shannon was born in Washington, DC on November 5, 1937 to the late Henry and Pearl Shannon.  He was a United States Air Force veteran and was a retired Payroll Clerk with the Charleston Naval Shipyard.  Mr. Shannon was a member of the Elks Club, Charleston Rifle Club and was of the Baptist faith.  He was an avid sports fan, spent many Saturdays with the guys playing half-rubber.

Surviving are his wife Betty Shannon of Charleston; son, Robert Shannon of Charleston; daughter, Kelly Shannon of Augusta, GA; brother, Vance Shannon and his wife Joan of Nevada; and a cousin, Joan Osburn.  He was predeceased by a brother, Gary Shannon.
