It is with deep sadness that we announce Wayne Thomas McGonigal, 64, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Carolyn Elizabeth "Betty" McGonigal entered into eternal rest Monday, April 17, 2023. His Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 2:00 p.m. A dinner will follow directly after the service at Church of God of Prophecy, 2921 Maybank Hwy, Johns Island, SC 29455. 

Wayne was born January 29, 1959 in Prescott, England, son of the late Charles McGonigal and Jean Grace McGonigal. Wayne often enjoyed adventures such as Scuba diving, dirt bike riding, and traveling with his wife and family. In his younger years Wayne earned many awards for bull riding and equestrian activities. In addition, Wayne was an accomplished saxophone player and was studying guitar as well; he found joy in playing with his church's worship band. 

Wayne is survived by his wife of 28 years, Betty; daughter, Chelsea E. McGonigal-Williams (Kyle Williams) and son, Justin Thomas McGonigal. Wayne cared for his family and friends deeply, and showed the true meaning of unconditional love daily.
He was a man of many jokes, laughs, and lighthearted nicknames. Often referred to as a legend- he will be immensely missed by many.
