Wayne Cameron Luden Sr., 73, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Leslie Eynon Luden, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 13, 2026. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel at 11:00 am, and the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Wayne was born August 25, 1952 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Henry Alvin Luden and Eleanor Cameron Luden. Wayne was deeply talented, intensely driven, and, at times, larger than life. For many years, he found success as a food salesman, bringing energy and determination to his work. Known in the water as “Tubin Luden,” he was an exceptional surfer and a gifted outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He crafted his own custom fishing rods and hand-tied flies with care and skill. His creativity showed in many forms—through detailed pencil sketches, oil paintings, and music shared on his acoustic guitar with his children and friends. He passed down his talents and love of the outdoors to his son, who continues those traditions, and to his daughters and grandchildren, who share that same appreciation for nature and the life he cherished. He was unforgettable in conversation—full of personality, outspoken, opinionated, and capable of talking your ear off, often with the confidence of someone who knew a little bit about everything. He carried himself with a striking presence, remembered for his good looks, his bright smile, and a laugh that could light up a room. Though life brought its share of challenges, he remained a devoted son and husband, and a man whose depth and talents left a lasting impression on those who truly knew him. He will be remembered not only for his gifts and talents, but for the love that was always there, and the unique spirit that made him truly one of a kind.

In addition to his wife Leslie, Wayne is survived by his children, Lauren L. Richardson (Billy), W. Cameron Luden Jr. (Lee), and Heather S. Harwell (Matthew); and his grandchildren, Brent V. Harwell, Aubrey S. Luden, Henry F. Luden, William D. Richardson III, Robert J. Luden, Beckett J. Richardson, Hazel Mae Luden, and Mary Eleanor Richardson; and his siblings Sharon L. Kreidler and Richard A. Luden.

Memorial donations can be made in Wayne's memory to the Surfrider Foundation.
