Warren Harding Rector

Warren Harding Rector, 93, of Awendaw, South Carolina, husband of Vivian White Rector died Wednesday, January 21, 2015. The relatives and friends of Warren Rector are invited to attend his funeral service on Sunday, January 25, 2015 in the Hibben United Methodist Church, 690 Coleman Boulevard at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 24, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Warren was born June 20, 1921 in Marshall, North Carolina, son of the late George Hampton Rector and the late Gertrude Debruel Mackmery Rector. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and also served in the United States Coast Guard. He retired as docking master for McAllister Towing and Transportation Company. He was also a member of Hibben United Methodist Church and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian W. Rector of Awendaw, SC; three children, Gwendolyn Rector of Fernandina Beach Fl, Warren Rector (Pam), of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Rainey Murdock of Hartsville, SC; grandsons, Lance Rector, Michael Rector, Jamie Murdock (Holly), and Jason Murdock (Jordan); granddaughter, Renee Suggs (Terry); great grandsons, Kevin Suggs, Joshua Rector, Franklin Rector, Christian Rector and Jayden Murdock; and great grand-daughters, Annabelle Grace Suggs and Jamie Lynn Murdock. He was preceded in death by his parents, his ten siblings and his son-in-law, Jim Murdock.
