Walter Francis Schwuchow

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 24, 2011, Walter Francis Schwuchow, husband of Emma Willis Schwuchow.  Residence, Johns Island, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. W. Francis Schwuchow are invited to attend the funeral services of the former at Johns Island Presbyterian Church, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11 am.  Burial will follow in the churchyard.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Friday afternoon from 5 until 7 pm.

Mr. Schwuchow was born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 23, 1914, son of the late Sarah Florence Grimshawe Schwuchow.  He was a member, Deacon and Elder of Johns Island Presbyterian Church.  Mr. Schwuchow was a World War II veteran and served in the United States Army and was retired from Meddin Brothers Meats and Prine Provisions.    

He is survived by his wife Emma Schwuchow of Johns Island; a daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Schwuchow Grimball and husband Paul of Charleston; three sons, Walter F. Schwuchow, III and wife Margaret of Rockville, SC, Glenn Richard Schwuchow and wife Luda of Johns Island, Freddie Schwuchow and wife Sally of Clarks Hill, SC; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Wood of Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
