Walter J. Fletcher, Jr., 74, of Seabrook Island , South Carolina, husband of Margarette Fletcher entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 29, 2017. His funeral service will be held at the graveside Monday, December 4, 2017 in Johns Island Presbyterian Churchyard, 2550 Bohicket Road at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Sunday at J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A church service will also be held at a future date at Cathedral of the Woods in Medford Lakes, New Jersey.
Walter was born January 20, 1943 in Riverside, New Jersey, son of Walter James Fletcher and Florence Fletcher. He was the owner of Fletcher's Forge Auto Collision Center, an associate member of Johns Island Presbyterian Church and was a Veteran of the United States Army Reserve.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margarette Grienkiewicz Fletcher, of Seabrook Island, SC; five children, Kelli Bolen of Sarasota, FL; Eugene Fletcher (Luisa) of Lancaster, CA; Suzanne Steele (Richard) of Riverton, NJ; Yvonne Fletcher, of Hanahan, SC; Mandy Fletcher of Marlton, NJ; sister, Ellen Niwinski (Jim) of Langhorn, PA; eight Grandchildren, Lauren, Lindsey, Adam, Tara, Cody, Taylor, Riley and Nolan; and two nephews, James Niwinski and Michael Niwinski.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
