Wade Carroll Turnage

Wade Carroll Turnage, 82, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Janette Black Turnage entered into eternal rest Friday, April 5, 2019. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, April 7, 2019 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Wade was born December 5, 1936 in Cheraw, South Carolina, son of the late John Hattie Turnage and Hattie Beatrice Rivers Turnage. He was a USMC veteran. Wade was a food service manager with The Citadel and then a self-employed building contractor as owner of Wade Turnage Services. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed model railroading, NASCAR, and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan and he loved country music. He was a former member of Pierpont Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janette Turnage of Charleston, SC; two sons, James Eric Turnage of St. Helena Island, SC, Michael Wade Turnage (Mary Elizabeth) of Summerville, SC; two sisters, Victoria Piper of St. George, SC, Alice Ratliff of North Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren, Steven Andrew Turnage (Bailey) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Jessica Elizabeth Carlson (Michael) of Ladson, SC, Joshua Michael Turnage (Danielle) of Moncks Corner, SC, Hunter Alexander Turnage of Summerville, SC, Lydia Jane Turnage of NY, John Michael Turnage of Athens, GA, Jared Wade Turnage of Columbus, MS; honorary grandchildren, Jarrett David Craft of Woodstock, GA, and Gabriel Rabiu of Spartanburg, SC; four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Elizabeth Turnage, Isabella Marie Grant, Wyatt Anthony Thomas Carlson and Brentley Michael Carlson.
