Vonnie Griffith Woods, 91, of North Charleston, SC, widow of Rev. James M. Woods, Jr., entered into eternal rest Friday, December 4, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday December 8, 2015, at J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, N. Charleston, SC at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Vonnie was born October 21, 1924 in Orangeburg, SC, daughter of the late Joseph Griffith and Hattie Whisenhunt Griffith. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading.

She is survived by her two sons; James M. Woods, III (Brenda) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Lamar G. Woods of Hanahan, S.C.; a daughter, Kay W.Courtney of Summerville, S.C.; five grandchildren: Tamra Woods Maxfield (Michael), Brad L. Woods, William Brian Carter, Kendall L. Courtney, and James Stewart Courtney; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters and a brother.
